tip Mini-Guide, vol. 2: what to see in the south of Mumbai

continued my revelations about Mumbai. Today, it fell on the places worth seeing. Let's start from Colaby and surrounding areas.

southern part of town is the most tipped in by tourists, as there is the up most attractions. Frankly these are not things like the Taj Mahal and the Pyramids to be seen, but only a simple monuments are photographed from several sides often enough and you can move to the next. The whole southern part is worth the walk and it is difficult to identify individual buildings to me to be seen, but the colonial buildings is striking, and certainly everyone will find himself in a few beads.

All the places listed below are the closest train station Churchgate, CST possibly, unless I write otherwise.

few things which, as I recommend:

place where a lot of turns tourists, Indian and foreign, and sellers various bubli. Must see, but it is not too long entertainment. An additional attraction / przeszkadzajką is a high probability of being zaczepionych by Indians who want to take a picture with you against the Gateway of India. Here you can meet a film agent, who propose to participate in the film, but do not offer more than 500 Rs. + Food. This is a very small amount (normally you can get it for the day, 4000-5000) but for tourists it's still a windfall. You can find such a plan with Shah Rukh Khan film, and it hoho:)
Taj Mahal Hotel is one who two years ago was occupied by the terrorists and the attack killed 167 people.
Only has recently been restored and reopened.

the square in front of India Gate, you can buy tickets on the ship, which will take us to the island. A ticket is not expensive, 120 Rs., And includes transportation the two sides, and a guide on the island. The better guides carefully, make sure that is one that is included. And so will want a tip, but no well. I'd prefer there without a guide, I just wanted to see what my pace, but if you will. Guide tells the story and explain the importance of each of the gods in the cave, so that anyone who likes ...
I recommend a trip to half a day. Ships sail quite often, every half hour or so, so no problem. Cash is just the northeastern part of the square.
The island with historical sculptures of Elephanta Caves. Introduction 250 for foreigners. You have to climb the stairs and watch out for the monkeys and the sellers of trinkets, who is settled down the stairs.
Note on wikitravel.org it is written that the cave is closed on Mondays, but the boats still floating, so it's better not to fall for it.

If someone is interested, it can go to Maharaj Chhatrapati Shivaji Vastu Sangrahalaya, formerly Prince of Wales Museum, but entrance costs 300 Rs. and it is my opinion, a waste of money. I was in the middle and I am not curious. Nice garden. Discounts for students, only in this case, in my view worth seeing. The National Gallery and other museums was not, I do not know, maybe more interesting.

I do not know what it is called, Oval Maidan? It is a large square, where the Indians play cricket passionately. Note, you can get the ball in the head:)
area there is a modeled on the Big Ben clock tower, the university and the court. Nice budyneczki.

place for walks in the neighborhood Catholic Cathedral (west) and the Flora Fountain.

long promenade, which, unfortunately, there are no cafes, but it's worth a go. Better to arm yourself with a bottle of water, because it's a nice walk and the way you may not be the shops close at hand. The destination is Chowpatty Beach, but there hard to take it anymore, because it is dirty, rather crowded, and there is really no what to do. Unless you eat ice cream and look at the dirty sea:)
nearest train station is Charnie Road, just two stops from Churchgate. If anyone wants there return, then you need a ticket for 4 Rs., quite often the final check station. Must be guided to the south, take the train to 'C' (as Churchgate).

Alternatively you can go to Grant Road (any train from Churchgate to the north), then taxi to the Altamount Rd. (25-30 Rs.), Where the most expensive apartment on candles, Antilia. It has 27 stories, lived there 6 people (Single family), and each floor is built by. completely different project. A little bit of data: 37000 m 2 living space, parking for 168 cars, a cinema, several pools, a helipad ... And so on. The building can be viewed only from the outside, it takes 15 seconds, so if someone is not a fanatic, it might not bother:)

rest of the city soon!
